Mumbai — Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to adopt micro- and macro-level planning strategies to achieve the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) targets, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts across sectors.
During a Finance Department review meeting at the Secretariat, Naidu highlighted the need for short-, medium-, and long-term planning to improve productivity. He stressed that effective execution at the field level would be essential to reach the targeted 15 percent growth rate.
According to the Chief Minister, the state is already supplying key resources such as water and electricity to agriculture and industry, and further efforts are required to enhance output. He noted that despite financial constraints, electricity tariffs have not been increased, and the government is absorbing an additional burden of Rs 4,600 crore linked to decisions made by the previous administration.
Naidu instructed revenue-generating departments to meet targets without placing additional burden on the public. He said that completing projects such as Amaravati and Polavaram would contribute to economic growth.
He added that funding for priority projects would be ensured with support from the central government and called for the use of schemes including Purvodaya and Sasci for development initiatives. The Chief Minister also reiterated that welfare programmes would proceed according to schedule and urged officials to secure funds under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
Senior officials, including Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav and Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad, attended the meeting.
