At least four people were killed and eight injured in a shooting and fire at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, on September 28. Police identified the suspect as 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford, who was shot dead by officers minutes after the attack. Authorities said Sanford rammed a vehicle into the church before opening fire with an assault rifle and setting the building ablaze. Hundreds had gathered for Sunday service.
